(first 1998 ‘untitled’ poem…nice)

It’s an honour to sit amongst you

To play with a word or two

To listen to banter and rhyme

Ribaldry that toes a fine line

It’s an honour your attention to hold

Applause worth far more than gold

Approval or not, politely you clap

My ego is always in tact

It’s an honour to listen to you

The talent in poetry unplugged

The words that flow from your thoughts

Show the world you’re worth more than they thought

Back in 1998, there was an open mic group called poetry unplugged…I loved it
